Silent Thunder

 395 rwhp, 376 rwtq through factory exhaust manifolds, cats and cat-back!

494 rwhp, 510 rwtq with NX MAF kit with 100 hp jets!

Motor mods:

Airflow Research (AFR) 205cc heads, CNC ported, milled .030" yielding a combustion chamber  volume of 60cc. Static compression ratio of 11.00 to 1, 2.02 intake valves, 1.60 exhaust valves. Double quench pad combustion chambers.

Stock displacement short block, with stock internals.

Thunder Racing "CheaTR" camshaft: 215/230 duration at .050, .600/.578 lift, 117 LSA installed at 116 ICL by Shane Burgess, Thunder Racing, Inc. Dynamic compression of 8.6 to 1.

LS6 intake manifold.

Motorsport Technology Inc. (MTI) carbon fiber intake lid with K&N filter.

Nitrous Express screenless MAF.

Stage 3 Home Ported Throttle Body (with epoxy entry), hot water bypass.

ASP under-drive crank pulley.

Stock GM exhaust manifolds, catalytic converters, and y-pipe.

SLP Dual Dual catback exhaust from 2002 Firehawk.

Nitrous Express MAF Kit (75-250 hp wet kit). For details on this kit, press here.

NGK TR-6ix iridium spark plugs gapped .038".

Custom pcm tuning by Geoff Skinner of Thunder Racing, Baton Rouge utilizing LS1 Edit, Dynojet Chassis Dyno and a wide-band O2 sensor. Air/fuel ratio set at 13.0 to 1 on the chassis dyno, timing is 26 degrees max (no gains with increased timing), idle speed 850 rpms (18" of vacuum), rev limiter 6800 rpms. With L-Trims locked at 0%, all lower rpm VE tables are within 3% S-Trims. Throttle response is fantastic!

Stock T-56 6 speed transmission with CAGS eliminated with tuning.

Factory Hurst shifter with Lou's Short Stick

Stock GM clutch and flywheel.

Stock GM 10 Bolt rear end, 3.42 gears.

Lots of power can be made even with stock exhaust!

Chassis/Suspension mods:

None at this point.

Stock shocks and struts.

Stock lower control arms.

Stock front and rear sway bars.

Fuzion ZRi Radials  275/45/17 all around.
